Duties

MAIN DUTIES OF THE POSITION
- Receive, verify and deliver parcels received for the Health Canada building in Longueuil;
- Transport hazardous materials to laboratories;
- Act as a shared fleet administrator for the Longueuil site;
- Coordinate automotive fleet activities;
- Make data entry;
- Snow plow vehicles and move them if necessary;
- Support manager.

Intent of the process

The immediate intent of this process is to fill one (1) permanent position in Longueuil, Quebec. This process will also be used to create a pool of qualified candidates for similar positions with various tenures (temporary, permanent), at Health Canada, Quebec Region. Should the selected candidate already be a public servant, the pool could also be used for acting appointments.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
Possession of a certificate in good standing for the transport of hazardous.

EXPERIENCE
Experience with activities related to shipping and receiving merchandise or mail.
Experience in using SAP software.

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of rules for the handling of hazardous materials (e.g. gas cylinders).

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENT
Availability to work overtime on request.

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance

Schedule of work from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm from Monday to Friday.
Lift and move loads up to 20 KG.
Operate a hand and electric skid lift.
Wearing personal protective equipment in a timely manner: gloves, boots or safety shoes conforming to requirements, safety glasses, etc.
Hold a valid driver's license valid in Québec.

N.B.: Each candidate can only undergo SLE testing one time within the context of an appointment process; any update to a candidate's linguistic profile must be as a result of subsequent SLE testing done outside of this appointment process.
