The intent of this process is to staff one position on a term basis for a period of 2 years, with the possibility of extension.
A pool of fully or partially qualified candidates will be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions at Natural Resources Canada with various tenures (determinate period or indeterminate), various linguistic requirements (imperative and/or non-imperative), language requirements (English Essential, French Essential, English or French Essential and Bilingual) and profile(s) (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC, etc.), various security requirements, various conditions of employment and for various locations.

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Education:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post secondary institution in Mechanical or Building Engineering or some other engineering speciality relevant to the duties of the position.
Recent* and significant experience** in the conception and/or management and/or operation of Heating, Cooling, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) equipment or systems for buildings;
Recent* and significant experience** in the appraisal of energy efficiency measures for buildings;
Recent* experience in the execution of commercial or industrial projects;
Experience in writing project proposals and reports;
Experience in planning, project proposal development, coordination and execution of activities applied to building mechanical systems.
*Recent is defined as in the last 15 years
**Significant is defined as at least 10 years
Graduation with a Masters Degree in applied science from a recognized post secondary institution in the field of HVAC systems, energy efficiency, and/or energy simulation for buildings.
Bilingual - Imperative (BBB/BBB)
Information on language requirements
Knowledge of buildings control systems (e.g., BAS, BEMS);
Knowledge of communication protocols for controlers (e.g., BACnet, Modbus, LonTalk);
Knowledge of energy evaluation software for buildings (e.g., eQuest, Open Studio, TRNSYS, EnergyPlus).
Ability to plan and coordinate projects;
Ability to effectively communicate in writing;
Ability to effectively communicate orally.
Autonomy;
Team spirit;
Creativity in problem resolution.
Knowledge of refrigeration technologies.
