The Department of National Defence (DND) is one of the largest federal government employers, offering over 70 different types of civilian career opportunities. A pool of qualified candidates will be establish and may be used to staff current and future GL-MAM-10 position with various tenures. This pool could be used to fill identical or similar positions with various language requirements or security profiles within the Department of National Defense in Quebec area.

DVS (Diploma in Vocational Studies) OR AVS (Attestation of Vocational Studies ) in gunsmith OR gun repair OR approved equivalency according to the norms of the Ministry of Education of a Canadian province or territory OR Weapon training from the military system: qualification DP1 (QL4)?
Bilingual - Imperative (A--/A--)
Other needs with different linguistic profile than the one advertised could be staffed within the pool to be established.

Knowledge:
• Knowledge of general principles in the field of armory
Abilities:
• Ability to work in hard-to-reach and sometimes cramped locations.
• Ability to diagnose problems related to arming.
• Ability to work with equipment related to the weapon profession.
• Ability to perform tasks when considering occupational health and safety requirements.
• Ability to communicate orally.
Personal Suitability:

• Demonstrating integrity and respect
• Weapon training from the military system: qualification DP2 (QL5)
• Experience with portable weapons.
• Experience with military vehicles and weapon systems.
• Experience with howitzers.
• Experience of more than one year and more focused on production work in the field of armaments.
Secret security clearance
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
The conditions of employment below could be used to fill certain positions:
• Be willing and able to work in a noisy and humid environment.
• Be willing and able to get on and off the vehicles of a height of more than 2.44 metres.
• Be willing and able to crouch, bend over, lift and transport merchandise up to 20 kg and safely use material handling equipment.
• Be willing and able to use vibrating tools.
• Be willing and able to wear CSA approved safety footwear and all other personal protective equipment that is required.
• Be willing and able to take trainings within Quebec, Canada and / or outside Canada.
Candidates must satisfy and meet all conditions of employment previously mentioned throughout the period of employment.
