Duties of the position: Anaerobic and aerobic culturing of bacteria, metabolic profiling of bacteria, molecular cloning, quantitative polymerase chain reaction, confocal microscopy, drafting scientific papers and protocols, assisting with supervision and training of students.
Immediate staffing need:1 full time 12 month term position.
A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used for similar permanent and temporary employment for the location indicated for this process.
In the event that an employee of the public service is qualified through this process, and there is a temporary need, he/she may be considered for acting or assignment/secondment opportunities.

Graduation with a MSc or PhD from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology or with specialization in a field relevant to the duties of the position.
Experience conducting microbiological research including: growth of bacteria for research purposes and analyzing gene expression.
Experience conducting molecular cloning.
Experience with relevant bioinformatics analysis software.
Experience conducting confocal microscopy.
English essential
