Work environment

Intent of the process

A pool of partially qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions within the Department of National Defence at the Montreal's, St-Jean sur le Richelieu’s and Bagotville Garnison with various tenures such as indeterminate (permanent) and term (temporary).

The pool can be used to staff positions with various language requirements.
Positions to staff are currently in St-Jean sur le Richelieu but this pool could be used to staff positions in Bagotville and Montréal.

EDUCATION
Vocational diploma in drafting or college diploma related to buildings and public works OR an acceptable combination of education and training in the field of technical drawing of buildings.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
Recent* experience in drafting and technical graphic representation of buildings using AutoCAD software (computer-aided drawing and/or computer-aided design), in at least one of the following fields: architecture, civil engineering (structure), building mechanics or electricity.
*Recent : Experience must have been gained within the last two years.

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of building drawing practices.

ABILITIES
Ability to produce building drawings using AutoCAD software.
Ability to perform surveys and take measurements to update drawings.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing.

Experience using the Department of National Defence's computer-aided drawing standards.
Experience with building information models (BIM).
