Intent of the process

A pool of partially qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions within the Department of National Defence at the Montreal's, St-Jean sur le Richelieu’s and Bagotville Garnison with various tenures such as indeterminate (permanent) and term (temporary).

The pool can be used to staff positions with various language requirements.
Positions to staff are currently in St-Jean sur le Richelieu but this pool could be used to staff positions in Bagotville and Montréal.

In this document, you must provide CONCRETE and DETAILED EXAMPLES to clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience requirements listed in the essential qualifications and asset qualifications section. The screening board cannot make any assumptions about your experience. It is not sufficient to say that you have the required qualifications or to list your current duties. One effective approach would be to use the wording of each experience criterion as a heading and then write one or two paragraphs demonstrating that you have the required experience and ensure that clear and accurate details are provided. The curriculum vitae may be a secondary source to confirm the experience described in the cover letter. EDUCATION
Vocational diploma in drafting or college diploma related to buildings and public works OR an acceptable combination of education and training in the field of technical drawing of buildings.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
Recent* experience in drafting and technical graphic representation of buildings using AutoCAD software (computer-aided drawing and/or computer-aided design), in at least one of the following fields: architecture, civil engineering (structure), building mechanics or electricity.
*Recent : Experience must have been gained within the last two years.

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of building drawing practices.

ABILITIES
Ability to produce building drawings using AutoCAD software.
Ability to perform surveys and take measurements to update drawings.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing.

EXPERIENCE
Experience using the Department of National Defence's computer-aided drawing standards.
Experience with building information models (BIM).
