Intent of the process

A pool of partially qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions within the Department of National Defence in Mirabel, Dorval, Saint-Jean-sur-le-Richelieu et Longueuil, with various tenures such as indeterminate (permanent) and term (temporary).

EXPERIENCE
Significant** and recent* experience in quality control or quality assurance in a technological or manufacturing field related to the position.

Significant** and recent* experience performing system, process or product audits.

Experience with Microsoft suite or equivalent.

* Recent experience: experience acquired during the last five years.
** Significant experience: Minimum of two years’ experience

EDUCATION
A postsecondary diploma from a recognized technological institute with a specialization in a technical or scientific field (electrical, electronic, aerospace, mechanical, maritime, software or industrial engineering technology; or other technological / manufacturing field related to the position).

An acceptable combination of education, training and experience in a field related to the position.

Degree equivalency

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of Quality Assurance principles and the ISO 9000:2008 standard.

ASSET QUALIFICATION

EDUCATION
Degree from an engineering program or approved equivalence in one of the following disciplines: electrical, electronic, aerospace, mechanical, or industrial engineering.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
Experience in initiating and following up corrective actions with the business management team.

Experience in the AF9000+ program or other Quality standard.

Experience as an auditor or Certified Auditor

Experience in the processes used in the manufacturing or repair or overhaul of military equipment and material.

Experience in quality assurance, engineering or technical support in contracted work related to manufacturing or repair and overhaul of military equipment.

Experience in risk analysis related to the quality assurance domain.

Experience in providing advice and recommendations to clients or management.

ORGANIZATIONAL NEEDS

Conditions of employment

Secret security clearance

Possess a valid class 5 driver’s license without restriction, issued by Quebec province or the provincial or Canadian territorial equivalent.

To be able to present on demand a satisfying Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ) driver file or equivalent of other Canadian province or territories.

Willing and able to be assigned to a work place or to a number of contractors in a geographic area who requires frequent travel to contractors’ facilities in all weather conditions.

Willing and able to walk considerably, stand, bend and climb in the plant when meeting with staff plant personnel and conducting investigations.

When required, the position requires to wear protective clothing, and exposure to regular plant hazards such as but not limited to: radiation and nuclear material, volatile fumes, operating machinery, vehicular traffic, noise, fumes, heat and cold.
Willing and able to travel* within and outside the headquarters area.

*All travel authorized by the employer will be paid or reimbursed from public funds as per the National Joint Council Directive.

Willing and able to work overtime when required.
