Successful candidates may choose to live in Amherst or in nearby cities, such as Moncton, which is a forty (40) minute drive, or Truro, which is a one (1) hour drive from Amherst.

Intent of the process

This is an anticipatory selection process and the intent of this process is for indeterminate and term appointment.

A pool of partially or fully qualified candidates may be established to staff similar or identical positions at Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC). Various linguistic profiles requirement as well as tenures and/or security clearance may vary according to the position being staffed.

The pool could be used to offer acting appointments, assignment, secondment or deployment under exceptional circumstances in order to protect employee's indeterminate status.

EDUCATION:

• Graduation with a degree (baccalaureate or higher level degree) from a recognized post-secondary institution.
OR
• An acceptable combination of education, training and experience defined as a high school diploma, relevant training and at least seven (7) years of relevant work experience (i.e. items listed under Essential Experience and/or asset criteria of the Statement of Merit Criteria, or any other related experience).
OR
• An acceptable combination of education, training and experience defined as completing 2 years post-secondary education, relevant training and at least five (5) years of relevant work experience (i.e. items listed under Essential Experience and/or asset criteria of the Statement of Merit Criteria, or any other related experience).

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

• Experience in the delivery of a program or service.

ABILITIES:

Applicants must complete the Public Service Entrance Exam: Test of Judgement Unsupervised Internet Test as part of the screening for this selection process. This test assesses the judgement required for solving problems in work-related situations. You will have 75 minutes to complete the test.
