EDUCATION:
• Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with acceptable specialization in Economics, Sociology or Statistics.
NOTE : Candidates must always have a university degree. The courses for the specialization do not necessarily have to be part of a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Experience:
• Experience in conducting socio-economic analysis and/or research.
• Experience writing on complex issues that have socio economic, public policy or environmental component.
• Experience developing and presenting socio-economic or public policy analysis and/or research to an audience.
English or French

Knowledge:
• Knowledge of the Ministerial mandate and priorities of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans.
• Knowledge of the Canadian Federal Regulatory Development Process, including the Cabinet Directive on Regulatory Management.
• Knowledge of the Canadian Legislative Process.
