Duties

- Provide advice and make recommendations to the Directorate on technical matters regarding the field of activity.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of engineering reports and act as an informed client with Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC).
- Plan and manage construction projects as well as the related budgets.
- Act as a technical advisor.

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff one bilingual position for a period of approximately two (2) years. However, a pool of qualified persons resulting from this process may also be established and may be used to staff similar or identical positions of various durations (specified period, indeterminate, deployment, assignment, secondment and acting) and various language profiles in Transport Canada.

EDUCATION
Successful completion of a post-secondary program relevant to the duties of the position, such as in mechanical engineering, building systems, or civil engineering.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
- Recent and significant* experience in managing construction projects.
- Experience in drafting technical standards, procedures or reports.
- Experience in providing advice to managers or supervisors, as well as to clients such as working groups, committees, etc.

* Recent and significant experience is defined as a minimum of five (5) years experience acquired within the last seven (7) years.
