The intent of this appointment process is to fill one immediate vacancy and to establish a fully assessed pool of qualified candidates that may be used to staff identical or similar positions of various tenures and various locations in PSPC.

Education:
Successful completion of a post-secondary education in a mechanical related field relevant to the position OR an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.
Occupational Certification:
A registered Certified Engineering Technician/ Technologist in “Good Standing” in the Province of Ontario in the Mechanical discipline.
Experience:
1. Recent* and significant** experience in providing technical services and programs for buildings mechanical systems and similar facilities.
2. Recent* and significant** experience in coordinating and managing building mechanical system reviews and mechanical code inspection programs.
3. Recent* and significant** experience in providing mechanical systems technical advice to internal and external clients.
4. Recent* and significant** experience in using computers, both hardware and standard software packages such as Microsoft Office, and AutoCAD
*Recent is defined as during the last 5 years.
**Significant is defined as a broad variety of mechanical systems, technical services and programs delivery and coordination that would normally be acquired in a period not less than 3 consecutive years.

Knowledge:
1. Knowledge of current practices and policies in maintenance management services.
2. Knowledge of legislation related to mechanical building systems in a federally governed real property environment.
Competencies:

5. Ability to interpret and apply mechanical related codes and regulations, such as: National Building Code of Canada,
National Plumbing Code of Canada, National Fire Code of Canada, Canada Labour Code, Installation Code for oil-burning equipment
Education:
Graduation from a recognized university with a degree in mechanical engineering.
Occupational Certification:
Registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario
Experience:
Experience in real property preventative maintenance programs.
Operational Requirements:
1. Willing and able to work overtime.
2. Willing and able to travel.
