Environmental Response - Senior Response Officer:
Under the direction of the CCG Deputy Superintendent of Environmental Response this position carries out environmental response duties in the marine environment as part of the Canadian Coast Guard’s federal mandate. This includes environmental response activities in the field, maintaining equipment, vessels and vehicles and carrying out administrative duties at the headquarters area including human resource and financial management. In addition the ER SRO provides supervision for ER field personnel, assumes regulatory authority on the part of the Crown for environmental response in the marine environment and completes reports and assessments for CCG senior management.
Search and Rescue – Senior Search and Rescue Officer
Under the direction of CCG Superintendent Marine Search and Rescue, this position provides support to the delivery of the Canadian Coast Guard’s federal SAR mandate. This includes SAR operations, training and exercise activities in the field, maintaining equipment, vessels and vehicles and carrying out administrative duties at the headquarters area including human resource and financial management. In addition the SAR Program Specialist provides supervision for SAR personnel delivering such program streams as co-ordination and delivery of the Inshore Rescue Boat Program, the Rescue Specialist Program, Rigid Hull Inflatable Operations Training Program and SAR Exercise and Training, Coast Guard Auxiliary liaison, First Nations Engagement activities and Analysis of Search and Rescue Delivery.

EXPERIENCE

1. Recent* experience in marine emergency response operations management at a tactical level
2. Experience writing reports that require analysis, such as but not limited to operational documents and external correspondence
3. Experience supervising staff
*Recent is defined as Experience acquired on the job within the past 5 years under the current legal framework
EDUCATION & OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
All streams;
1. Post-secondary diploma or degree related to the duties of the position
2. A deck or engine room marine certificate of Competency issued under the CANADA SHIPPING ACT, 2001 Marine Personnel Regulations SOR/2007-115, for a Master Limited (60 Ton) or higher and/or a Fourth-Class Engineer, Motor Ship or higher. Certificates will be rated in order of precedence according to the regulations
3. Small Vessel Operator’s Certificate (SVOP)

5. Restricted Operator’s Certificate (Maritime Commercial) or higher
