Intent of the process

Anticipatory - A pool of qualified candidates will be created and may be used to staff similar positions, on a temporary or permanent basis, within the Canadian Coast Guard College in Sydney, NS.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION:
Diploma from a Nautical College OR Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Mechanical, Electrical or Instrumentation, Electronics and Control Engineering OR Successful completion of acceptable specialized training related to the position.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
Experience in monitoring machinery and carrying out maintenance and repairs.
Experience in managing and training technical staff.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

ASSET EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Education.
Certification in adult education.

Degree equivalency

ASSET OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:
Second Class Engineering Certificate, Motor, or combined.

ASSET EXPERIENCE:
Teaching experience in the field of engineering.
Experience as Chief or Senior Engineer on Canadian Coast Guard vessels.
Experience as Chief or Senior Engineering Officer on merchant marine vessels.
